For Starbucks’ campaign to reintroduce itself as the coffee company, a handwritten font became essential to its new debut and continued voice in the space. Inspired by the natural swoosh of a sharpie on a cup, the handwritten type brought humanity and authenticity to the design system. Bespoke and crafted each time, just like the coffee. We launched with a romanticized script that evolved into genuine barista handwriting, just like what you’d see on your personalized cup of joe every morning.

Hank the Halls Custom Typography

This holiday season, Buffalo Wild Wings shared a magical story brought to life through stunning stop motion animation. To match the film’s sense of wonder and craftsmanship, we created a bespoke type treatment inspired by vintage holiday lettering. Every letterform, every star, every snowy swoosh was meticulously crafted, then laser cut and hand painted in gold by the artisans at House Special.

Putting the most authentic version of yourself out there is the most  “Off The Wall” thing you can do today. By modernizing and dimensionalizing
the brand we can evolve what it means to be “Off The Wall” today. To answer this we built a colorful, inclusive, robust design system inspired by the iconic checkerboard to tell individual stories among a collective.

Wish for the Extraordinary ‘22 Holiday Campaign

As we get older, we forget how to wish big during the holidays. And what better way to remind us all to wish for the extraordinary than with a product that can take us to the moon or turn us into a superhero. We were tasked with creating a simple, expressiv & iconic design system that showcases real people experiencing their extraordinary wishes through meta quest. We worked closely with world-class typographers to craft beautiful, bespoke handwritten wishes. Fine-tuning each ligature and style to truly embody the wisher and creating uniquely stunning written wishes.
